This Clinical Update in Cardiovascular Risk Factors was originally delivered on May 11, 2023 at the SGIM23 Annual Meeting in Denver.

The presenters review the literature to identify practice-changing papers within the previous year and have selected seminal articles in three key domains of cardiovascular risk seen most commonly in primary care: hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes.  Authors have identified 2-3 papers within each of these categories or the broader realm of cardiovascular risk reduction.  Each paper is reviewed within a clinical context or a short case presentation, in-person audience participation, and a brief review of paper followed by a discussion about the impact of the findings on clinical care in the outpatient setting.

Authors:  J.L.Cluett, Beth Isreal Deaconnes Medical Center; K.B.Bryant, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; A.Crawford, University of Chicago Division of the Biological Sciences; B.D.Gallagher, Yale University School of Medicine; E.Tseng, Johns Hopkins Medicine.
